Although photography is so much fun, taking beautiful blog pictures can sometimes seem like an impossible challenge! For me, the background of a picture is sometimes just as important as what's in the picture and being on a student budget (AKA not actually having lovely marble sides or distressed wooden floors in my house) I usually resort to using some clever samples. These are my top 5 backgrounds with links to where they came from!
Whitewash Oak Flooring Sample - £2 (X). This is by far my favourite background! It's simple enough to not make a picture too busy, but equally is interesting enough to make a picture slightly more eye-catching. It works so well for photographing beauty products and is also crazy affordable.
A3 White Paper - £3.49 or cheaper (X). This simple background will always be a winner! The plain background makes the picture instantly clearer and brighter, and really lets the products shine. I've used some A3 paper from WHSmiths as I already had it, but if you're really on a budget consider using the back of a lovely free wallpaper sample.
Marble Vinyl - £3.49 (X). Marble, the beloved go to background of beauty bloggers everywhere. And while it may seem that having a marble table or side is just crazily common in the blogging world, its really not! For this background I've simple bought a sample of marble vinyl off ebay and stuck it to some leftover cardboard. For me, the marble adds a bit of simple elegance to a picture and personally I love to use this background for photographing makeup.
Distressed Wood Wallpaper Sample - Free (X). This is fairly similar to the first background, but with the big advantage of being a lot bigger! This is another simple-ish background that adds a bit of a rustic vintage twist to the picture.
Map Wallpaper Sample - Free (X). Another Homebase wallpaper sample, this time a map. I love the idea of using maps as a background as its adds a unique twist to pictures and isn't as widely used as the other backgrounds in this post. I also love travelling so like that adds a hnt of my personality to pictures.
What's your favourite background for blog pictures?
Also to anyone I confused with my last post Lush's bubble bars are reusable (like their gorgeous carrots) but their bath bombs aren't!
